Collection Description From the Collection: The papers consist entirely of photographic prints of public figures taken by Mauldin during his years as a political reporter. Most of the identifying information was provided by Mr. Mauldin on the reverse of the photos.

Abstract This small collection consists of 75 photographs of public figures, including Speaker of the House Sol Blatt, state senator Edgar Brown (both in photo at right), Governor Robert McNair, state senator James P. "Spot" Mozingo, and Governor John West. The photos were taken by Doug Mauldin, a South Carolina journalist and photographer who worked for The State, the Greenville News, and the Associated Press, frequently reporting on state government.

Scope and Contents From the Series: Audio-Visual Materials includes a large subseries of Photographic Materials. The subseries is primarily arranged by image format and contains slides, negatives, prints, and scrapbook pages. It is secondarily arranged by county and topical content.
