Scope and Contents From the Series: Speech files, 1950 to 2002, consist chiefly of texts, drafts, and outlines of speeches, related correspondence, and programs. Undated speeches, chiefly from his years as state senator, lieutenant governor, and governor, are found at the end of the collection. The speech index, at the end of the finding aid, only lists speeches that have texts or outlines, and does not list speeches which are only referred to in correspondence or programs.

Abstract This small collection consists of 75 photographs of public figures, including Speaker of the House Sol Blatt, state senator Edgar Brown (both in photo at right), Governor Robert McNair, state senator James P. "Spot" Mozingo, and Governor John West. The photos were taken by Doug Mauldin, a South Carolina journalist and photographer who worked for The State, the Greenville News, and the Associated Press, frequently reporting on state government.
