Minett family home movies collection

Home movie collection containing 33 reels of color and black and white Super 8mm and 8mm films from the family of USC Professor Mark Minett. The two reels of 8mm were shot by the Mark's grandfather, Lewis. The rest were filmed by his father, Ed. The collection ranges from the 1940s through to the 1980s, and includes footage of family gatherings, vacations and outings, Christmas, Easter, and childrens' birthdays.

Biographical Note

William Edward "Ed" Minett was born to Lewis and Bernice (née Parsons) Minett on January 24, 1943. He married Sandra Jean Hawkins on June 10, 1966. Sandra Hawkins Minett was born May 24, 1943, in Salem, Ohio, to George Webb Hawkins and Mary Josephine (Hudson) Hawkins. Together the couple had three children: Matthew Edward Minett (born 1970), Susanne Michelle Searl (born 1975), and Mark Edward Minett (born May 7, 1977).

Mark Minett is a professor at the University of South Carolina. He is married to Heather Heckman, Director of USC's Moving Image Research Collections.
