Abstract

The DWC of South Carolina seeks to identify, encourage and support qualified female Democratic candidates, to help women achieve a level of equality on all levels of government, and to encourage participation in political activities.

Biographical Note

The Democratic Women’s Council of South Carolina is affiliated with the Democratic Party of South Carolina and was organized to work “in harmony” with the Party, work for the election of Party candidates, initiate and carry out programs and projects on behalf of the Democratic Party and its candidates, and encourage women to become involved in the Democratic Party at all levels.

Women’s clubs at the county level, such as the Democratic Women of Richland County, may become affiliated with the Council.
