Biographical Files Collection

The Biographical Files collection contains brochures, posters, photographs, newspaper clippings, and other assorted documents relating to composers, conductors, and performing artists. The collection is organized into four series: I. General Material; II. Mark O’Connor; III. Photographs; IV. Posters; with Series I containing the bulk of the material. The majority of the material is undated. Of particular interest is Series II. Mark O’Connor, where autographed photographs and promotional material document a performance of O’Connor’s at the University of South Carolina. Other areas of concentrated documentation occur within Series I. General Material, including several reviews and articles about Hector Berlioz, an autographed letter from composer Lou Harrison, nine letters from composer Libby Larsen to Laury Christie, various promotional and biographical materials of West Columbia, SC native Michael Smith, and several certificates and clippings regarding Walter Yeh.
