Byrnes and associates made during his term as South Carolina Governor (1951-1955), including the presidential campaign stop of Eisenhower in 1952, return of the Sword of State from England in 1951, the Southern Governors Conference in Boca Raton in 1954, and the Byrnes Dinner in 1950. Also photographs of the last days of Governor Strom Thurmond’s term. Many are unidentified. Wilma Smith took a large portion of the photographs.
