Scope and Contents This collection is an organic compilation of ephemera originally found in multiple HIV/AIDS collections that came to the library at the same time, all primarily documenting HIV/AIDS in South Carolina. Items such as complete books (monographs) have been cataloged in Rare Books and Special Collections, but other, more ephemeral items and clippings, including a large collection of individual magazines, journals, and other periodicals with HIV/AIDS-related content were gathered here in this record...

Scope and Contents James Blanton was a co-founder (1990) of the South Carolina Gay and Lesbian Pride Movement (SCGLPM) and a longstanding member of its steering committee. In the late 1990s and 2000s, he was a Producer of Rainbow Radio, South Carolina’s first GLBT radio show, and occasional co-host.This group of materials collected by Blanton is part of the Department’s “AIDS and its Impact” Collection.
