Founded in 1948, the Spartanburg (S.C.) league was disbanded during the spring of 1960, and reorganized circa 1974-1975. Formed in January 1973, the Coalition was reorganized in 1975 as a public interest lobby to secure ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment to the federal constitution by South Carolina.
