William Gates Rich/David L. Rosmer Collection

Scope and Contents The William Gates Rich/David L. Rosmer Collection is comprised of approximately 1,600 jazz, gospel, and blues 78-rpm recordings, over 400 LP recordings, and hundreds of cassette and reel-to-reel tapes from the early 1900s through the 1960s. Scarce recordings, such as Okeh’s 8000 series and the Victor V-38000 series, are numerous. Many of the tape recordings were recorded on location in South Carolina. L.C. Sloan Collection of Association for Recorded Sound Collections Materials

Scope and Contents Correspondence, photographs, programs, and lists document L. C. Sloan’s involvement with the Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) from 1961 to 2000, with the bulk of the materials dating from the 1960s. The collection is organized in one series. Documentation relates to ARSC and ARSC conferences, many of which L. C. Sloan personally attended. These materials accompanied a large donation of books, scores, and audiovisual recordings.
