Residents of Columbia, S.C.; Lieutenant Oliver Jordan Wolfe (1919- 2002) served in in the 25th Statistical Control Unit, which was attached to the Thirteenth Army Air Force, also known as “the Jungle Air Force” for it frequent relocations among the islands north of Australia and New Guinea. His young bride, Marie Virginia Ulmer Wolfe (b. 1921), remained home in South Carolina during the war....
