Scope and Contents Opening in 1942 as Greenville Army Air Base near Greenville, S.C., it was a bomber training base. GAAB was used by Tactical Air Command after 1945 and renamed Greenville Air Force Base with establishment of the U.S. Air Force in 1947. It was renamed again to Donaldson Air Force Base in 1951. Abstract This small collection consists of 75 photographs of public figures, including Speaker of the House Sol Blatt, state senator Edgar Brown (both in photo at right), Governor Robert McNair, state senator James P. "Spot" Mozingo, and Governor John West. The photos were taken by Doug Mauldin, a South Carolina journalist and photographer who worked for The State, the Greenville News, and the Associated Press, frequently reporting on state government.

Dungan film collection

Scope and Contents Collection contains 2,600 feet of color and black and white 16mm film. The four home movies were shot by Frank Dungan between 1948 and 1957 and include footage of New York City, Paris, France, and Grindelwald, Switzerland.
