John Drummond Papers

Abstract

John Drummond represented the Greenwood area in the South Carolina Senate for more than forty years, including service as president pro tempore, before retiring in 2008. These papers contain material relating to this public service career and also include material on Drummond's stint as a World War II fighter pilot and his reunions with other veterans from his air group.

Dungan film collection

Scope and Contents

Collection contains 2,600 feet of color and black and white 16mm film. The four home movies were shot by Frank Dungan between 1948 and 1957 and include footage of New York City, Paris, France, and Grindelwald, Switzerland. The collection also contains photographic equipment including cameras, a tripod, filters, masks, and meters.

E. T. Start of New York State moved to Camden South Carolina in 1903, as the photographer at the Kirkwood Hotel. Photographing the Winter Colony and local scenes, He spent time in Camden until c. 1945. Images of people, animals, and houses in Camden, S.C., including white and African-American families, horse -drawn vehicles, horseback riding, women in riding habits, polo, birds, dog tricks, chickens, turkeys, gardens, tennis, the house "Bohemia," and trip to the mountains.
